Dr. Thunga’s Manaswini Hospital, Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Care, Training, and Research, organized a workshop titled “Wellness Pathways” to mark the observation of World Mental Health Day on 10th October, 2024. The event, held at the hospital’s premises in Arkula, Farangipete, Mangalore, witnessed the presence of eminent guests and resource persons who contributed valuable insights into the importance of mental wellness. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Professor Madhumala, Professor at the Department of Social Work, Alvas College, Moodbidre, who replaced the previously scheduled guest. In her address, she emphasized the significance of community-driven efforts in spreading awareness about mental health and the role of institutions in providing holistic care. The workshop featured distinguished resource persons, including Dr. Ravichandra Karkala, Professor of Psychiatry at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, and Dr. Raghavendra Holla, Chairman of Swastika National Business School, Mangalore. Dr. Karkala delivered an enlightening session on the psychological aspects of wellness, while Dr. Holla explored the connection between mental health and personal development, stressing the need for integrating mental health care into educational systems. Dr. Ravisha Thunga Airody, Medical Director of Dr. Thunga’s Manaswini Hospital, presided over the event and shared his expertise on the evolving challenges in mental health care. He highlighted the hospital’s continuous efforts in promoting mental wellness and the necessity of addressing mental health issues with empathy and clinical excellence. The “Wellness Pathways” workshop served as an interactive platform where participants engaged in discussions on mental health awareness, personal wellness strategies, and the ways to enhance psychological resilience in everyday life.
